ICT Absorption

MSMEs to be competitive need innovations and sharing of knowledge among each other at a faster speed. ICTs has made MSMEs available a never before for facilitating innovation and information flow. Our innovative models for increasing ICT adoption in the clusters have proved very successful in converting the traditional firms into digital firms.

MSMEs in different clusters in different sectors face different type of problems in IT adoption. They are not aware of the benefits of the IT adoption or even though they understand the benefits, they lack resources for creating the required ICT infrastructure. Through our unique approach we work at multiple levels. At enterprise level our ICT based interventions help to increase operational efficiency, reduce production costs, improve quality, improve market access and enhanced sales and profits and at cluster ecosystem level it helps in increasing the awareness, promotes information sharing, strengthen the ISVs, disseminate learning from the best practices. Our support for planning and execution of IT infrastructure project include sensitization/awareness generation, finding PPP partners/creation of SPV, preparing Detail Project Report (DPR), connecting to Government schemes , mobilization of contributions from local stakeholders and finally developing people’s acceptance and usage. Our strategy of Proof of Concepts (PoC) and Customization of IT products to suit the exact need of MSMEs and strengthening the local ecosystem have proved successful in many clusters.

E-readiness centre created in 5 clusters under Project Vikas has established them as one stop shop for providing ICT related services to MSMEs in the clusters.

Evangelizing ICT in clusters and increasing people’s acceptance for the ICT usage based on cluster development approach has been our new experiment in this area.
