Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project

ACDS have been assigned project by Madhya Pradesh Rural Livelihoods Project (MPRLP) funded by DFID for Developing Wooden Toy Cluster in Shahdol and Sheopur. The project aims at skill enhancement of artisans for competitive marketing and strengthening of supply chain to enhance incomes of value chain actors especially tribal artisans. Developing CFCs for smooth production of toys as per the market specifications and to achieve optimal usage of scarce raw materials is foreseen as an important output of the intervention. The project will involve initiatives at the back-end like forming SHG’s to front-end initiatives like enhancing competitive marketing.

Direct Marketing of Artisanal Products through Internet

The Project was supported by International Development Research Center and was implemented at Moradabad Brass Products Cluster, Saharanpur Wood Carving Cluster, Firozabad Glassware and Bangles cluster and Chanderi Handloom Cluster. The main objectives of the project were capacity building through training, ICT Usage, Design Interventions and developing market linkage through Internet.

Capacity Building of Artisans

The Project was supported by UNIDO for Maheshwar Handloom cluster. Main objectives of projects were Social Capital formation, Product Diversification, Market/Marketing Linkage, Training and Capacity Building. For better marketing linkages Self Help Groups were formed and for better product development Computer designing with diversification was introduced.
